An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced and proactive Office Manager to join a busy and well-established accountancy practice. This is a hands-on, varied role that requires someone with proven experience in a professional services environment who thrives on responsibility and enjoys being the go-to person for both clients and colleagues.
About the Role
As Office Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the smooth running of the practice, working closely with the Practice Manager and wider leadership team. You’ll oversee all aspects of office coordination and client administration while managing facilities, compliance, and practice events. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, has excellent attention to detail, and takes pride in keeping everything running efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage day-to-day office operations, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the practice
• Act as a key point of contact for clients, providing professional and timely support
• Support the Practice Manager with compliance, administrative, and project-based tasks
• Oversee facilities management, including supplier liaison, maintenance contracts, and health and safety coordination
• Handle AML (Anti-Money Laundering) compliance and maintain accurate client documentation
• Manage client correspondence, onboarding, and file maintenance using IRIS and Xero software
• Prepare and issue client invoices and reports as required
• Coordinate company events, including the annual business party and other team activities
• Assist with HR administration, IT coordination, and general office support
Skills & Experience Required
• Previous experience working within an accountancy practice is essential
• Proficiency in IRIS and Xero accounting software is essential
• Strong understanding of AML and compliance procedures
• Excellent organisational and communication skills, with a professional and approachable manner
• Proven ability to multitask, prioritise, and work independently
• Confident with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general IT systems
• A proactive, adaptable, and solutions-focused approach
