Finance Assistant

Immediate Start – 3 month temp – Monday to Friday – Stevenage (office based)

A great opportunity has become available for an experienced Senior Finance Assistant to join a friendly and busy finance team in Stevenage. This temporary position is ideal for someone with strong technical skills and a high level of accuracy, who can confidently support core finance processes from day one.

Working closely with the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will take ownership of a broad range of finance duties including sales invoicing, purchase ledger, reconciliations, and payroll support.

Finance Assistant – Job Overview

• Processing sales invoices and recording customer payments
• Managing the purchase ledger, including invoice input and supplier reconciliations
• Supporting payroll preparation and processing
• Performing bank reconciliations
• Assisting with financial reporting and internal deliverables
• Ensuring all financial records are accurate, up to date, and filed in accordance with internal procedures

Finance Assistant – Skills and Experience Required

• Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and accounting software
• Advanced Excel skills, including use of pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
• Comfortable working across multiple systems for data extraction and reconciliation
• Proven experience handling confidential financial data with discretion
• Exceptional attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
• Previous experience in a similar finance or accounts assistant role
