About the Role
As Finance Officer, you’ll provide end-to-end bookkeeping support across sales, purchase and general ledgers, ensuring timely, accurate recording, payment and reconciliation. Working closely with the Finance Manager, you’ll post income (including donations), process invoices and expenses, set up payments, and complete daily/weekly bank reconciliations. You’ll also handle supplier queries, raise charity invoices and support wider finance tasks as needed. (QuickBooks used.)
Key Responsibilities
• Post donations and other income with correct dates, methods, GL codes and fund allocation
• Post purchase invoices to the correct departmental codes; check PO authorisation where relevant
• Enter other expenditure accurately in QuickBooks
• Set up electronic payments, obtain approvals per mandate, issue remittances
• Process crew/support payments on instruction; reimburse staff/speaker expenses
• Complete daily bank reconciliations; formal weekly/monthly reconciliations across accounts
• Ensure cash handling, banking and monthly reconciliation align with policy/insurance
• Prepare outgoing invoices; respond to supplier/third-party queries promptly and professionally
• Support additional finance duties and uphold organisational policies and values

About You
• AAT qualified (or equivalent experience) with previous finance/accounts experience
• Strong organisation, accuracy and attention to detail; able to meet deadlines and priorities
• Clear verbal/written communicator; collaborative, calm under pressure and solutions-focused
• Working knowledge of QuickBooks and databases/systems (training provided)
• Charity sector experience and not-for-profit knowledge desirable
• Alignment with the organisation’s mission and values
