Engineer

An established and growing industrial services business is looking for a Depot Based Engineer to join their service team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and motivated engineer with a passion for problem-solving and maintenance.

Job Overview
As a Depot Based Engineer, your duties will include:
• Carrying out planned service and maintenance work on fleet and customer equipment
• Diagnosing and repairing faults across a variety of generators and heavy plant
• Preparing equipment for hire
• Loading and unloading vehicles
• Ensuring the workshop and depot areas are clean and safe
• Completing all paperwork accurately and on time
• Supporting the wider service team and promoting continuous improvement

This role works on a 7am – 7pm day shift, following a 4 on / 4 off pattern

As a Depot Based Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring essential equipment is fully operational and safe – keeping customers powered and projects moving. Your expertise directly contributes to the reliability and reputation of the wider business.

Skills & Experience Required
• GCSEs or equivalent education , Engineering Apprenticeship preferred
• City & Guilds qualifications or similar 
• Forklift Truck Licence would be advantageous
• Hands-on experience with generators, plant equipment or similar heavy engineering
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently
• Self-motivated with a can-do attitude
• Comfortable working occasional unsociable hours if required
