Contact Centre Agent

Are you passionate about providing excellent customer service and helping people find the answers they need? We’re currently recruiting for a Contact Centre Agent to join a busy and supportive Customer Service Centre team based in Stevenage.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, communicating with a wide range of people, and delivering a high-quality customer experience across multiple channels.

About the Role

As a Contact Centre Agent, you’ll be the first point of contact for customers, handling enquiries via telephone, email, and online platforms. You’ll work to resolve queries at the first point of contact, ensuring each customer receives a friendly, professional and efficient service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Handling a variety of customer enquiries across multiple communication channels.
  • Providing accurate information, advice and support in a clear and professional manner.
  • Updating customer records and maintaining accurate data.
  • Encouraging and supporting customers to use self-service and online systems.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and customer experience.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and other departments to deliver great service.

About You

We are looking for a Contact Centre Agent who can demonstrate:

  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
  • Previous experience in a telephone-based or customer-facing role.
  • Ability to identify and prioritise customer needs effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry skills.
  • Confidence in handling sensitive or challenging situations with empathy.
  • Team player attitude with flexibility to adapt to change.
  • Basic IT proficiency and experience using databases or CRM systems.
