Finance SQL Analyst

A detail-focused Finance Analyst with strong SQL experience is required to join this forward-thinking organisation. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys working with data, interpreting financial trends, and supporting decision-making in a mission-led, collaborative environment.

This is a full-time office-based role in Ware (Hertfordshire) working Monday to Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm. Please note only candidates who are currently residing within the local area will be considered.

About the Role – Finance Analyst
You will support the finance department by developing and managing SQL queries, producing financial reports, and ensuring data accuracy across systems. You will play a vital role in informing strategic planning and ensuring correct and timely payments to key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimise SQL queries to extract and analyse financial data
• Collaborate with finance teams to understand reporting requirements and produce accurate outputs
• Analyse trends, variances, and forecasts to support budgeting and planning
• Conduct data quality checks to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial information
• Present key insights to stakeholders through concise reporting and dashboards
• Document technical processes and maintain clear specifications for all outputs

Skills and Experience Required

• Proven experience as an SQL Analyst, Finance Analyst, or in a similar role
• Strong SQL skills and ability to interpret complex data
• High attention to detail and analytical mindset
• Excellent communication skills and ability to present insights clearly
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Experience with data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau (preferred)
• Knowledge of Python or R for data analysis is advantageous
• Previous experience in financial forecasting or budgeting is desirable
