Compliance Assistant

Job Type:
£23,000 to £25,000 per annum

Due to internal promotion this established and expanding Stevenage based Insurance firm have an opportunity for a Compliance Assistant to work alongside the Compliance Manager carrying out quality and call audits, giving feedback and suggesting areas for improvement as well as escalating any issues. You will assist in delivering agreed KPI’s, ensure the day-to-day objectives are completed in a timely and consistent manner

Job Description
Working alongside the Compliance Manager you will monitor, assess and benchmark quality across all customer facing operational areas ensuring that the needs of the customer and the business are balanced at all times, leading to optimum outcomes for both.  

• Carry out the required number of quality audits along with root cause analysis across all Customer Facing Operational areas
• Provide clear, consistent and constructive feedback following audit findings
• Provide feedback to the relevant teams/individuals with suggestions on improvements as to how to enhance quality, customer experience and reduce complaints
• Identify any areas of risk where the business may be exposed and provide recommendations; liaising with other departments as required
• Work with colleagues to ensure there is effective and consistent communication at all times (both within and outside of your team)
• Demonstrate and maintain an understanding of the regulatory environment and regulatory expectations
• Demonstrate high standards of personal performance
• Update the relevant MI tool ensuring that daily, weekly and monthly updates are recorded
• Drive a culture where fair customer outcomes are the central consideration
• Where you need to escalate/ refer a query, ensure all information is provided that will allow a speedy investigation and resolution
• Plan and prioritise your daily, weekly, monthly workload in order to meet the needs of the customer and the business and to ensure targets are met
• Identify process improvement opportunities to drive customer service improvements
• Ensure that all documented business processes are followed accordingly
• Maintain a sound understanding of relevant products and services
• Have the ability to determine training needs and coach, mentor or train accordingly
• Conduct training workshops/ sessions as required (e.g. highlighted by audits, appraisals etc.)
• Ensure all breaches are identified correctly and reported and escalated correctly in line with the documented processes

Required Skills
As Compliance Assistant you will have:
• Excel, Outlook and Word competent
• Positive attitude to work and an approachable, friendly and helpful manner
• Basic understanding of the insurance market
• Outstanding and effective communication skills
• Ability to work with individual and team targets
• Determination and ability to work within a busy and fast paced environment
• Good time keeping and attendance
• Ability to overcome audit objections in a compliant, professional manner
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment

• £23,000 - £25,000 per annum
• 8.30am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday
• 25 days holiday
• Pension scheme
