The Confident Leader
We live in a world where we have more of everything — except time.
In today’s workplace, people are expected to do more, do it better, do it quicker and do it for less. The pressure is real. And the solution isn’t working longer hours — it’s working smarter, communicating better and leading more effectively.
This one-day Leadership development programme brings together three essential workplace skills that transform both personal effectiveness and team performance.
What We Will Cover
1 - How To Manage Your Time Better
Time is our scarcest resource. If it is not managed properly, it is often wasted.
This session focuses on the three key skills of effective time management: Planning. Prioritising. Delegating.
Participants begin by completing a self-evaluation to assess how well they manage themselves in order to manage their time. They identify their time management personality, explore the biggest challenges they face and uncover the common “time stealers” that quietly derail productivity
The workshop then moves into practical tools, including:
- Writing effective “To Do” lists
- Learning the secret to prioritising properly
- Distinguishing between urgent and important tasks
- Understanding the difference between work allocation and true delegation
- Exploring the five secrets for successful delegation
By the end of the session, participants leave with a clear, structured approach to managing their workload and empowering others — rather than feeling overwhelmed by constant demands.
2 - How To Be Assertive
Assertiveness is a form of behaving in a mature way in a difficult situation. This workshop is designed to enable delegates to adopt a more confident approach when developing productive working relationships.
It defines assertive behaviour and shows how assertiveness can assist in dealing with different people and situations. Participants are encouraged to take responsibility for their own development, enabling them to communicate with greater confidence and develop positive, assertive responses
In this session participants:
- Complete a self-evaluation — How Assertive Are You?
- Identify what stops them from being assertive
- Explore the effects of being unassertive
- Learn how to express ideas without feeling guilty or intimidated
Participants are introduced to the four steps for being assertive — self-esteem, self-knowledge, respect for others and clear communication.
They also identify their preferred conflict-handling style — aggressive, assertive or passive and learn a practical technique for being assertive without being aggressive.
The result is greater confidence, stronger relationships and more constructive conversations.
3 - How To Give Feedback
There are many opportunities in the workplace to provide feedback on how someone has performed a task or behaved in a given situation. Yet many people shy away from giving feedback altogether.
This session addresses that hesitation head-on and equips participants with the confidence and structure to give feedback effectively and constructively — without causing offence
Participants learn:
- The two secrets for giving effective feedback
- The one secret for receiving feedback
- The power and impact of affirmation in the workplace
- A powerful technique for delivering difficult feedback
Through discussion and practical exercises, participants explore what feedback truly is and why it matters. They take part in an impactful activity demonstrating the power of praise and positive reinforcement, and they practise structured techniques for handling more challenging conversations with clarity and professionalism.
