Future Focussed Leadership
The future doesn’t belong to the busiest leaders.
It belongs to the most self-aware, strategically minded and creatively agile.
In a fast-changing world, technical competence alone is no longer enough. The leaders who thrive are those who understand people, think beyond the immediate and approach challenges with clarity and innovation.
Future Focused Leadership brings together three essential capabilities for modern leadership:
- Developing Emotional Intelligence
- Thinking Strategically
- Finding Creative Solutions to Problems
Together, these three capabilities create leaders who are adaptable, resilient and prepared not just to manage change — but to lead it.
What We Will Cover
1 - How To Develop Your Emotional Intelligence
Emotional intelligence is our ability to be self-aware and to recognise and manage our emotions and those of the people around us. Unlike IQ, emotional intelligence can be learned — but it requires practice and commitment The payoff? Stronger relationships, better decision-making and more effective leadership. This session explores the framework that enables leaders to get results in managing themselves and others.
Participants will:
- Understand what emotional intelligence really is
- Become aware of the five facets of emotional intelligence
- Complete a self-evaluation to identify their emotional intelligence profile
- Learn the 10 principles for emotional intelligence success
The workshop explores the difference between self-esteem and self-confidence and challenges participants to reflect on how they believe they come across compared to how they actually come across. The session concludes with a powerful activity, The Power of Affirmation, reinforcing that leadership influence begins with emotional awareness.
2 - How To Think Strategically
At its simplest, strategy is a method, a plan, or even a dream to bring about a desired future. When strategy, process and leadership come together, the results can be transformational. An inspiring vision with strategy is the beginning of great leadership.
In this fast-paced and interactive session, participants learn to step back from daily demands and see the bigger picture.
The workshop covers:
- What strategy really is
- The key benefit of having a strategy
- A practical 5-Step model for turning strategy into action
- The two secrets for communicating strategy effectively
Participants leave with clarity on how to connect long-term vision with everyday decisions — ensuring effort aligns with direction.
3 - How To Find Creative Solutions To Problems
We cannot solve our problems with the same level of thinking that created them. Organisations that apply creative thinking and innovation gain sustainable competitive advantage and stay ahead of the competition. This highly practical session introduces The 6-Step Creative Thinking Model, enabling participants to apply structured creativity to real workplace challenges.
Participants will:
- Understand the difference between creativity and innovation
- Apply the 6-Step Creative Thinking Model
- Practise techniques to increase creativity at work
Each participant brings a real project, challenge or issue to the session. In the session they will be taught how to adopt a 6 step creative thinking model to find a solution.
- Defining the issue clearly in 12 words or less
- Identifying root causes using the “why/why” technique
- Generating ideas through “green light thinking”
- Selecting solutions using “red light thinking” and the Hassle-Impact Matrix
- Gaining buy-in using The 4P’s Model
- Monitoring success with two key evaluation questions
This ensures the learning is not theoretical — it delivers practical, actionable outcomes.
