A new opportunity to join a supportive HR team within a large educational establishment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating their own case load, supporting managers with investigations and advising disciplinary and grievance panels. In support of the appropriate HR /Business Partner, they will manage a full range of cases.

The successful candidate must have had experience working within the public sector and working with Trade Union Representatives. 

ER Advisor – Part time - 1 year FTC  – Benefits Offered

  • £30,000 based on 30 hours per week (this can be split over 4 or 5 days)

ER Advisor – Part time - 1 year FTC  - Job Overview

  • Accurately advise, guide and support managers with all matters relating to employee relations from informal to first formal stages, including investigations and panel
  • Effectively and efficiently case manage people related issues such as contractual issues, disciplinaries, performance management, employment tribunals, grievance, bullying and harassment, probation and sickness absence.
  • Pro-actively build and continuously develop positive professional relationships with Strategic Business Units (SBUs) with the aim of promoting good employee relations across the University.
  • Supporting the HRBPs in delivering formal and informal workshops to managers with the aim of improving confidence and competency in dealing with employee relations
  • Working closely with the HR Business Partners, producing accurate statistical and management information as required.
  • Working in partnership with Trade Union representatives, negotiating with them as and when necessary.


ER Advisor – Part time - 1 year FTC  - Skills & Experience Required

  • Experience working within the public sector is essential 
  • Have experience and good knowledge of HR
  • Degree in HR or equivalent qualification is desirable
  • Confident and be able to work independently
